Final push to hit £20,000 fundraising target ahead of Friday’s trek
Racecourse Media Group (RMG) and Racing TV staff will be swapping their desks for Dorset on Friday as they embark on a 20-mile trek to raise vital funds for the Teenage Cancer Trust.
The tough and spectacular trek along the Jurassic Coat, amid a forecast of extreme heat, will be taken on by around 25 staff from the horseracing media company.
RMG warmly welcome all donations as the team look to hit their fundraising target of £20,000 to provide much-needed support for the UK’s only charity dedicated to providing specialised care and support for young people facing cancer.
Clive Cottrell, Director of Marketing at RMG, said: “This partnership is deeply meaningful to me personally and I have seen first-hand the difference that specialist care, dedicated staff and the right support can make. We’d love your donation – whether it’s £5, £20, £50 or whatever you can give. Your generosity will motivate the team on the trek and show them their hard effort is truly making an impact.”
Judith Anderson, Senior Relationship Manager East Anglia & London, at Teenage Cancer Trust, added: “The partnership between RMG and Teenage Cancer Trust will have a huge impact for the young people we support with cancer. If RMG manage to reach their target of £20,000, then that could pay for 800 hours of a Youth Support Coordinator’s time to help a young person cope with anxiety and isolation during cancer treatment. What a difference that would make to the young people we support.”
