Racecourse Media Group (RMG) delivered payments of £118.4m to its shareholder racecourses, generated from the performance of their media and data rights in 2025.
The result was achieved despite betting turnover pressures, regulatory intervention and wider macroeconomic challenges.
Those licence fees supported £107m in prize money at RMG racecourses last year.
RMG Chair, Conor Grant, said the performance underlined the strength of the Group’s model and partnerships.
“The fact that RMG delivered payments in such testing circumstances reflects the quality and creativity of our content, the effectiveness of our partnerships, and the discipline of our commercial approach,” he said.
Grant, who steps down in October after his three-year term as Chair, paid tribute to RMG’s shareholder racecourses: “Your trust, engagement, and commitment to the RMG model have been the foundations on which this year’s results – and indeed the longer-term success of the business – have been built.
“Collective ownership is not just a structural feature of RMG; it is our defining competitive advantage. RMG is a business founded and owned by racecourses, which returns 100% of profits back to Racing.”
Revenues were generated across RMG’s broad portfolio, including Online Betting; Licensed Betting Offices (SIS partnership); international wagering distribution, including via World Pool / HKJC partnership, GBI Racing (ARC JV) and Racing 1 (ARC, Tabcorp, 1/ST JV); Racing TV; international and mainstream broadcast, including ITV; and Racecourse Data Company.
Chief Executive Nick Mills said: “I would like to thank our racecourses, RMG staff, presenters, pundits, and freelancers, plus our betting and commercial partners, who have all supported us in 2025 and enabled us to deliver exceptional broadcast and product outputs.”
Mills explained how RMG has refreshed its strategy – including the new vision of ‘Working for Racing’s Future’ – to ensure the business remains resilient and competitive, maximising returns now while building sustainable growth into the 2030s and beyond.
“We have strengthened our relationships with many of the sport’s stakeholders, including the National Trainers’ Federation (NTF) and Professional Jockeys’ Association (PJA), and are increasing investment in broadcast as the engine of our ecosystem.
“Using Racing TV and ITV, alongside enhanced formats and new betting formats, will only drive engagement across all channels. We continue to invest in data, streaming and product innovation – as evidenced by our recent increased investment in betting information provider BoscaSports – while expanding internationally.
“We are scaling our digital presence to reach new and younger audiences, with social and YouTube central to future growth. Our social media platforms recently exceeded 2m followers, while the RMG-owned Raceday TV (available on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok) is on course to surpass 1bn views for 2026 alone.”
