About us:

Racecourse Media Group is the umbrella organisation for 35 racecourses which hold an interest in Racing TV (Sky 424, Virgin 536 and 411, Freeview and YouView 261), GBI Racing (international betting shop/digital service) and Racecourse Data Company (licensor of Pre-Race Data). In addition, content from 37 racecourses is distributed by Sports Information Services (SIS) to Licensed Betting Offices (LBOs) in the UK and Ireland.

Job Purpose:

A Junior Analyst is required to join the production team of Racing TV, to present live and recorded segments for use in programmes from the studios in Ealing and on location at racecourses and racing establishments throughout the UK and Ireland.

Job Accountabilities:

  • To provide analysis for all Racing TV programmes utilising data from Race IQ
  • To present aspects of the Racing TV, live and recorded, output
  • To be a key part of the team that produces and presents The Verdict analysis strand of programming
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of metrics for the Race IQ product

Measures for the role:

  • Contribute to the ongoing development of metrics for the Race IQ product
  • Generate ideas and independently take them to completion
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with instructions for tasks set
  • To work collaboratively with the wider production teams to produce best outcomes for the channel

Any other relevant information:

  • Evenings, weekends, and bank holidays are an integral part of the shift system
  • Flexible shift pattern to account for the racing calendar
  • Flexibility to travel and work non-standard hours
  • To always comply with Health & Safety regulations and safe working practices in accordance with current legislation and as detailed in the Company’s Health & Safety and Policy and Procedures

Experience

–          Experience collecting, analysing and/or presenting data

 

 

–          Previous experience of working in a live broadcast environment

–          Experience within the horse racing and betting industry

–          Ability to utilise data to present and analyse horse racing performance

–          Keen eye for accuracy and detail

–          Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines

–          Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

 

–          Voice over and presentation skills, and the ability to work with production talkback
